A dental bridge is a popular solution for the replacement of a missing tooth or a row of adjacent missing teeth. A bridge comprises the required number of artificial teeth with a dental crown on either end to anchor it in place. Bridges can be made available on the same day.
A bridge is an excellent way of repairing a large gap in your smile left behind by a row of missing teeth. You may also benefit from a bridge if you have a single missing tooth and a dental implant or partial denture is unsuitable for any reason.
To start the process, your dentist will use CompuDent technology to administer a local anaesthetic precisely and comfortably. They will then file down the teeth on either side of the gap, enabling them to act as anchor points.
Once your anchor teeth are prepared, the dentist will take a 3D scan of the area and use the data to produce your bridge when it can, using our on-site milling machine.
When the bridge is ready, the dentist will place it into the gap, with the crowns on either side sitting over your anchor teeth. After checking it for a good colour match and a proper fit, your dentist will seal it in place permanently with a strong adhesive.
Dental bridges require no additional maintenance besides continuing to care for your teeth and gums to keep them clean and healthy.
At the Banning Dental Practice, we use advanced technology to produce restorations from durable and beautiful ceramic material. Our dental bridges can last between 10 and 25 years, providing you maintain a good standard of oral hygiene.
